About & Team

The people building trusted community spaces for women in Malmö.

Foreningen ABK Dam Med brings together organizers, mentors and facilitators who know the neighborhoods we serve and understand how trust is built over time.

Our association combines practical support with relationship-based leadership so women and families can access guidance, participation and long-term belonging.

This page brings our story and our team together in one place so partners, families and new participants can quickly understand who we are and how we work.

Who We Are

A local association shaped by consistency, care and visible next steps.

We work close to families, respond to real needs and make it easier for women to move from first contact into lasting participation.

How the association works

ABK Dam Med is built around recurring contact. Women often meet us through a neighbor, a support activity or a community event, then return because the environment feels practical, respectful and familiar.

Our team combines outreach, mentoring, event coordination and family support. That mix helps us follow through on both immediate questions and longer-term goals.

What we prioritize

We focus on language confidence, family wellbeing and leadership pathways. Programs are designed to reduce isolation, strengthen capability and create more room for women to shape local community life.

Every activity is grounded in relationships, clear communication and access to the next useful opportunity.

Shared Direction

A team that stays close to the community.

Our staff and volunteers stay visible across workshops, welcome gatherings, mentoring sessions and neighborhood partnerships so women know where to turn when they are ready to take the next step.

Our Approach

Three principles that guide the team every week.

The association is strongest when support feels personal, practical and steady over time.

Trust first

We build credibility through recurring presence, clear follow-up and environments where women feel seen rather than processed.

Practical support

Programs are designed to answer concrete needs, from conversation practice and mentoring to family guidance and event access.

Shared leadership

Participants are encouraged to become facilitators, peer guides and visible contributors in the next phase of community work.
